We are here to provide food support, when you need it.

The price of everything is through the roof- groceries, heating, housing. It gets harder and harder to make sure I am able to feed me and my kids healthy food. I am grateful to shop at the food shelf so I can save money at the grocery store and can put that money towards other bills. It helps.

You are always welcome at KCFA

Access our food supports so you can save your money. KCFA is designed to supplement your food supply and to provide support and relief when you need it. There is not a typical food shelf shopper. Our shoppers come from various backgrounds and circumstances. No matter who you are or why you are shopping at our food shelf, you are welcome at KCFA. We want your visit to be as successful as possible. If you think you may need extra support during your time shopping, please contact us. The core of our work is that we believe, no matter what, everyone should have access to food

Check In

The first step to shopping is to check in with the food shelf coordinator who will help you through the process of shopping at the food shelf.

Fill out paperwork

We ask all shoppers to fill out a single page intake form once a year. This form allows our food shelf to participate in a federal program that provides us free food such as milk and frozen meats.  If any of the information on your form changes during the year, please let us know and we can update your account.

Shopper Orientation

Once you have filled out the intake form, our food shelf coordinator will give you a shopping orientation. Our food shelves are designed as a client choice model, meaning you choose foods for yourself as you would in a grocery store.

Shop and…

Once you have been made aware of our shopping guidelines, it is time to shop. All the food and items in our shelves are always 100% free.

…please respect the Shopping Guidelines

We ask that shoppers respect the shopping guidelines. These guidelines were created to make sure we are able to equitably distribute food between our bi-monthly food deliveries from the food bank. The items that we ask shoppers to take less of are either more difficult for us to source or items that were purchased at a high cost to the food shelf.

Come Back Again

Once you are done shopping, we do not need anything more from you. If you use a cart to load up your groceries, we ask that you return the cart to the food shelf when you are done. We hope that you were able to supplement your monthly food and household needs by shopping at the food shelf. If you want to come back, you (or someone from your household) can shop at the food shelf twice per month.
