Help those in need. Strengthen your community. Change Koochiching County.

Are you looking for a meaningful way to help your local community? Are you looking to use your free time to serve those in need? Do you want to be part of changing the food system of Koochiching County? If so, there are many ways to stay engaged with KCFA and the work we are doing.

Volunteer

Volunteers are core to our operation. From stocking shelves, to repacking food and household items, to picking up food donations to coordinating our satellite food shelves and pantries, we would not be able to provide these services without community support. We have a variety of positions available and can accommodate groups of volunteers. If you are interested in having fun while helping your local community, join our KCFA volunteer crew!

Donate

Monetary support is always a critical need. KCFA purchases much of the food it distributes in Koochiching County. In 2022 we distributed almost 200,000 pounds. The good news is that we are able to purchase deeply discounted food from Second Harvest North Central Food Bank. Our organization is positioned in the US hunger relief system that allows our dollars to go 8 times further at our food bank than they would at a regular grocery store.

Host a Drive

If you are part of a group that is looking for meaningful volunteer experience, consider hosting a money or food drive to benefit KCFA. This is a great opportunity for groups of all kinds-  sports teams, church groups, student groups, scouts and more! Work together, have fun, learn about the issue of hunger in our community and have a meaningful impact. We have everything you need to host a successful drive- Hosting a Drive guide, promotional material and suggestions for most wanted foods and other themes.
