KCFA Programs
Food insecurity impacts every part of daily life in our families and communities, from health disparities to school performance. Access to adequate and nutritional food can make a significant difference in improving the quality and longevity of our lives. At KCFA we have four programs we operate to help connect people in Koochiching County with food.

KCFA Food Shelf
Core program at KCFA
The core program at KCFA is our food shelf program. We operate choice style shopping models in three locations- our main location in International Falls, and a satellite location in Minnesota North College: Rainy River. Our food shelves participate in the TEFAP federal program and we make our best attempt to offer a variety of free food and goods at all locations including: frozen meats, milk, frozen meals, feminine hygiene products and household items. To be eligible for this program, shoppers must be income eligible (income at or below 300% of federal poverty level) and are required to fill out a single page intake form once a year. Shoppers can shop at any of our locations up to twice per month, in total.
